Ionic Air Cleaner
What can an ionic air cleaner do for you? Ionic air cleaners are small appliances whose purpose is add electrons to particles floating in the air. This has two effects. First, it causes those charged particles to stick to nearby surfaces. This is useful for cleaning the air, allergens, dust, dirt and viruses can receive this negative charge and then get eliminated from the air. The second benefit of ionic air cleaners is physiological. Many people believe that the human body benefits from interacting with negative ions. Environments with negative ions exist in nature. Pllaces such as waterfalls and mountains have lots of negative ions either due to interactions with the sun or physical interactions between rough moving water, which is analogous to how static electrical charges build up. The negative ions released by an ionic air cleaner can supposedly help with season affective disorder, making people feel more alertand depression. Despite all these claims, the effectiveness of Ionic air cleaners and negative ions is still being studied.
